Outfit post - Beardsley Rose

I went to see The King's Speech today (great film, btw!) and I wore my new dress for the first time.

everything else: offbrand (Bijou Brigitte, Restyle, local shops)

There's one more picture of the same outfit after the jump break.

Here's my outfit from that night.

Designer inspiration for lolita, part 4

32 fashion editorial images ahead. Most of them have a darker, more gothic feel, perfect for a day like today.

My favourite models

I've wanted to write this post for a while. A short list of my favourite models, with runway, editorial and backstage pictures from all over the Internet.

Models in this post:
My personal top three: Anja Rubik, Sasha Pivovarova and Aymeline Valade.
A bonus: Nonoka Iwata, a gyaru model. I can't really compare her to editorial models but she deserves a mention either way.

This post is very image heavy. Be warned.

New dress - Beardsley Rose

My dream dress. The absolute no. 1 on my wishlist. Beardsley Rose by Alice and the Pirates.

It has my favourite colours (black, white, red) and favourite motifs (roses and Alice in Wonderland).
The cut is babydoll, which tends to look unflattering on many people but I quite like wearing dresses with this cut.

I got it today. I bought the dress from a girl on egl_comm_sales. I paid immediately and she shipped it the very next day. Fortunately I didn't have to pay customs because this is a used dress. But if I didn't know it, I would 've never guessed. The previous owner wore it only once and the dress looks like new.

I had to try it on immediately!

I'm wearing it with a wide belt here.

I can't wait to have a chance to wear it out!

Designer inspiration for lolita, part 3

Here's the next part of inspiring fashion editorials. Maybe I should turn it into a sort of weekly feature?

There are 30 images in this post, and most of them have a sort of dreamy-classic-fantasy feel to them. Mostly soft colours, lots of frills, layers and girliness.

We'll start with The Nutcracker Girl from Vogue Korea, one of my favourite photoshoots from last year.

Outfit post - Black Swan

I went to see Black Swan today. My mind is still blown away so this entry may not make much sense.
Here's my outfit from today's outing.

JSK: Innocent World
everything else: local shops

I meant to dress lolita, the result was sort of... dolly keiish? I can't say it's dolly kei inspired because I wasn't really consciously inspired. I just dresses up in the morning and hoped for the best (paraphrasing Daphne Guinness).

To be honest I was out of ideas when it comes to this dress. I hope I at least managed to make it look unique.

When I got back home I tried out the Black Swan makeup from the last act (and from the film posters).
